Airco tig welder

Many years ago Airco disbanded and sold off the rights to their parts to several different companies some of which are still doing business today.  A company named Concoa bought the rights to Airco oxy-fuel cutting and welding equipment.  Concoa has recently within the past couple of years started manufacturing Airco cutting torches and outfits after a long down time while they concentrated on the regulator and manifold part of the business.  ESAB Cutting & Welding bought the rights to make Airco mig and tig welding parts.

While MIG welding is relatively easy to learn, TIG welding is not. TIG welding takes a lot more skill and knowledge to make a good TIG weld. One of the best ways to learn TIG welding is to learn oxygen/acetylene welding or brazing first. Although oxyacetylene welding pretty much is obsolete as a major welding process, it is perfect for learning the premise of a good TIG welding bead. You have to hold the TIG torch at the right angle, keep the weld pool uniform, and add the correct amount of filler metal to produce a good bead.
